MORE ABOUT ME...

I first came to Muskoka as a child in the early 1960s. I loved Muskoka at first sight; the trees, forest, lakes, rivers and streams, the plant life and abundant wildlife. I loved climbing the cliffs and marvelled at some of the giant rocks as large as a house. My father would point out these rocks and describe the work of glaciers to me. Even as a child, I wanted to see it all preserved.  My love for Muskoka has not changed.  In fact, it has become deeper and I appreciate its fragility. Once it’s gone, it will be gone for good.

My wife and I have a hobby farm and manage a significant forest.  Our goal is to preserve it for future generations.  While it has been a sacrifice, the magic grows day by day; year by year.

I bring considerable municipal experience to this election with previous involvement as Vice Chair in the Confederation of Resident and Ratepayers Association, Vice President of the Oriole Park Association and Co-Chair of the Bedford Park Residents Association. Having worked on several Official Plans, and zoning applications;we succeeded in protecting neighbourhoods, green spaces, historical buildings and historical districts. Not only did we enhance planning and historical protections that would respect our neighbourhood and environment, but we managed to succeed beyond single-interest groups who viewed our city neighbourhoods for personal money gains.

With a Bachelor of Commerce degree (With Distinction) from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business, I bring extensive business experience as an entrepreneur. I developed and marketed various products in Canada and worldwide. One of my focuses was water   purification for the medical and dental industries. My current focus is in the technology field.
