HERITAGE AND CONSERVATION

  • Protecting the town's heritage: historical buildings, and Bracebridge character. Bracebridge is the only town in Muskoka that doesn’t have a Municipal Heritage Designation Committee under the Municipal act. How can we let this apparent oversight continue?

  • Woodchester and other heritage buildings should be protected and recognized for their value to our town life, culture, and as a tourist attraction.

  • Muskoka urgently needs a Conservation Authority – Muskoka has one of the largest watersheds in Ontario yet is one of the few areas that lacks a Conservation Authority.  A Muskoka Conservation Authority would undertake watershed programs to protect the Muskoka Watershed, people and property from flooding, other natural hazards, and to conserve our natural resources for the benefit of ALL residents.

  • Develop a Full Endangered Species Act compliance for all projects and developments.
