MIKE

FOR MAYOR

Anchor 1

SAVE DON'T PAVE
BRACEBRIDGE

Let's work together to protect and preserve the town's natural heritage, natural beauty, peace, and tranquility

SAVE DON’T PAVE

– PROTECT BRACEBRIDGE –  LET’S PROTECT MUSKOKA

Join me in protecting the natural beauty, peace and tranquility of our beloved Town of Bracebridge and the rest of Muskoka.

Together we can stop inappropriate and environmentally destructive projects such as the  proposed Muskoka Royale,  the newly proposed Fowler Mega Quarry and the excessive cutting and clear cutting of trees.

The current town Council wants development at all costs, ignoring your concerns, ignoring just plain sensible stewardship of the environment.  They want to Pave and not Save.

This is perhaps the most important election in the history of Bracebridge.  It’s a  fight for the heart and soul of Muskoka.  The next few years will determine if we can preserve the reasons why we are here in Muskoka.  Should Bracebridge become just another suburb that we see in the Greater Toronto Area?    The next elected Town Council will be making this decision through the new Official Plan and Zoning By-law.  The current Town Council has ignored your concerns and votes against your interests.

Will future generations look back and say that our generation allowed the destruction of Muskoka or preserved Muskoka.

Together we can preserve our precious Muskoka environment and create a sustainable economy for Muskoka.

SAVE DON’T PAVE

Sincerely,

Mike Opara

ABOUT MIKE

I first came to Muskoka as a child in the early 1960s. I loved Mukoka at first sight; the trees, forest, lakes, rivers and streams, the plant life and abundant wildlife. I loved climbing the cliffs and marvelled at some of the giant rocks as large as a house. My father would point out these rocks and describe the work of glaciers to me. Even as a child, I wanted to see it all preserved.  My love for Muskoka has not changed.  In fact, it has become deeper and I appreciate its fragility. Once it’s gone, it will be gone for good.
